Birdland Collection
This painterly, deeply textured set of wallpapers and fabrics are inspired by beautiful blue and white motifs and web like patterns of Dutch Delphe designs, first appearing on ceramics in the early 1600's
Whilst creating the 'Birdland' Collection of wallpapers and fabrics, listening to jazz musicians was a really important part of the design process. Musicians such as Rosetta Tharpe, Thelonious Monk and Charlie Parker were playing in the studio influencing an aesthetic that is complex and intricate and full of deep rich colour and tone. Design from Derbyshire at its award winning best.
