LIVING OUT LOUD

The Home of Blackpop in Full Colour
Reclaim Magazine recently featured the home of Blackpop's Design Directors Maxine Hall and Paula Moss in an issue celebrating the transformation of homes from 'forgotten to fabulous'!

We were delighted when Reclaim approached us wanting to tell the story of our home. As a live/work space it's very much a reflection of our design aesthetic coupled with a sensitive restoration that has really elevated and transformed the building.

Photographed by James Balston who is acclaimed at photographing both commercial
and residential interiors, James has an easy style which suits both contemporary and older houses.

" With its dark corners and rooms heavy with delicious pattern and saturated colour, James worked his magic to create a set of images that really reflect that way our home enfolds and nurtures"
Paula - Studio Director

Built in 1889 this gothic looking red brick house sits proudly in the middle of Wirksworths busy high street. Always home to creatives and artisans [stonemasons, weavers, tailors and haberdashers] Florence House is home to Blackpop's business which occupies the whole of the ground floor with a showroom, studio and dispatch rooms.

Upstairs the interior is an eclectic mix of modern and antique furniture, some inherited but mostly bought through local auction houses. Upholstered pieces, drapes and voiles use Blackpop's printed patterned fabrics including their signature British cotton velvet. Custom wallpapers adorn walls and ceilings.
Whilst there is no prescribed 'look' throughout their home, Blackpop's wallpaper's and fabrics feature heavily throughout, creating immersive, layered spaces that are reflective of Maxine and Paula's creative exploration and different personalities.
